This project was born from a unique niche: helping mortuary students prepare for their National Board Exams. I was asked to design an interactive Jeopardy-style quiz game that would live alongside traditional test and study tools.

Archer Systems was contracted in 2023 to build a custom portal for law firms and the judge presiding over the 3M Earplugs lawsuit. This portal needed to be a dashboard to keep track of every single claimant’s paperwork completion status involved in the class action lawsuit (280,000+ people).

- Reinforce existing learning through gameplay
- Balance fun UI with the seriousness of the subject

The biggest challenge was tone. The content is serious—embalming, ethics, and anatomy—so we needed a light, non-distracting game experience. I kept the board familiar but modern, ensuring students could jump right in.

I also created the system that lets instructors generate unique game boards by pulling from their assigned topics. This customization helps align classroom learning with independent studying.

Students reported higher retention when using the game versus traditional flashcards.
